Ozgur Akbas, LMFT, Pronouns: Him/He

Ozgur Akbas, LMFT - Level III panelist

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of New Hampshire and I envision a future where humanely designed technology aids and empowers us to live more connected, intentional, and satisfying lives. Since such a future would drastically reduce, if not eliminate the need for my field, I also hope for generous unemployment benefits, free college education, and career counseling.

Over the past two decades, I have worked with teens, families, couples, and adults in various settings. In my private practice, I help individuals struggling with PTSD, OCD, and Technology Addictions. I am a trained ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) therapist. I am also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. My holistic and integrative approach draws from the fields of neuropsychology, mindfulness, and spirituality.

I offer workshops that translate the research findings on neuropsychology and mindfulness into principles that can be practically applied by all who seek healing and growth. I hold a BS in Economics from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and have Masters degrees in Experiential Education and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of New Hampshire.

When I’m not helping clients, you can find me walking my dogs, and taking care of our goats, bunnies, chickens, and cats on our small therapeutic farm. I also love playing board games with my family and pushing my limits at my Crossfit gym and sweating in my yoga studio.
